Assessment Information

If you were arrested on or after July 1, 2003, state law requires an assessment be done before enrolling in a ADSAC (Alcohol, Drug Substance Abuse Course).

We are certified to provide the appropriate type of drug and alcohol assessment required by the Department of Public Safety for driver's license reinstatement. Most courts also prefer this assessment format as well.

This process involves an individual (1:1) session with a state-certified assessor, who will administer a variety of testing instruments to the individual. The tests we use routinely include the following:

  • Substance Abuse Subtle Inventory-3 (SASSI-3)

  • Driver Risk Inventory-II (DRI-II)

  • Addiction Severity Index (ASI)

In addition, the client is interviewed, following the guidelines of the Addiction Severity Index (ASI) semi-structured interview process. The assessor then discusses the overall results with the individual, and makes recommendations for interventions appropriate to the individual's determined needs. This process takes anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half, and the cost is $175.00.

Clients are given a minimum of three (3) Certificates of Completion, which include test date and recommendations, to take to court or the Department of Public Safety.
