10-Hour ADSAC
Cost: $150.00

At a minimum, 10-hour ADSAC courses must cover topics including, but not limited to:

  • Legal aspects of drinking or using other drugs and driving

  • Physiological aspects of using alcohol and other drugs

  • Sociological aspects of using alcohol and other drugs

  • Effects and possible outcomes of drinking or using other drugs and driving

  • The etiology of alcohol and other drugs

  • The effects on family and friends in the abuse of alcohol and other drugs

  • Alternatives to using alcohol or other drugs and driving

Each course must provide for a full ten (10) hours of block-teaching classroom instruction, and is to be 
conducted in a minimum of three 3-hour and 20-minute sessions on 3 separate days.

24-Hour ADSAC
Cost: $360.00

The 24-hour ADSAC courses cover the same topics included in the 10-hour course, with the addition of at least the following:

  • Psychological aspects of using alcohol and other drugs

  • Sociological aspects of using alcohol and other drugs

  • Communication and stress management

  • Peer pressure issues, problem identification, and relapse prevention 

Each course must provide for a full twenty-four (24) hours of block-teaching classroom instruction, and is conducted in a minimum of 12 two-hour sessions. State law requires that each student be allowed to attend no more than two such sessions per week, resulting in an overall time period of approximately six weeks for completion of the course.

Additional Information

Audio visual materials may be presented as part of the ADSAC course, but may not constitute more than 10% of the overall course time. In addition, discussion periods must follow any audio-visual presentation.

Course participants are provided with appropriate community referrals and resources as well.

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety requires completion of a 24-hour DUI School course of individuals facing a second or subsequent alcohol related driving offense, drug conviction, or combination thereof. There is no time limit to previous offenses.
